How to be Patient

Once, a teacher gave his students some corn seeds. He then asked them to sow them and look after the plants. One boy named Robert loved corn cobs, and he took great care of the plant for many days. As soon as a baby shoot appeared, an impatient Robert went to see his teacher. Excitedly he asked, “Can I take out the plant?” The teacher answered that he would have to wait until the cobs matured. A dejected Robert continued taking care of his plant. But he grew more and more impatient, day by day. Ignoring his teacher’s instructions to be patient, Robert cut the plant as soon as the first corn cob appeared. But the cob was still immature and could not be consumed. Robert realised that he had spoilt it all due to lack of patience. So, he promised to be patient in the future and to listen to what his teacher said.
