It was a cold and rainy night. Chuck and his friend decided to take a cab to return to their hostel. After a long walk, they managed to stop a cab. The driver said, “Please get in!” Chuck asked the driver to stop at a nearby coffee shop. His friend asked the driver to join them and have a cup of coffee. But the driver refused. Chuck insisted, but the driver refused again. Chuck’s friend became angry with the driver, but the driver remained silent. When Chuck and his friend reached their hostel, they paid the fare and asked the driver the reason for refusing the coffee. He replied, “Sir, my son is in hospital. I do not have enough money for his treatment. So I promised not to drink even water until I earn enough money for my son.” Chuck and his friend offered him money but the driver refused. In spite of his poor financial condition, the cab driver remained honest and stood by his words!
