Theodor Seuss Geisel, popularly known as Dr. Seuss, was born on the 2nd of March 1904 in Massachusetts, U.S., and passed away on 24th September, 1991.

Do you know that Dr. Seuss did not hold a doctorate until much later when he was awarded an honorary one? He only added the ‘Dr.’ because of his father who wanted him to practicse medicine.

Dr. Seuss was a popular American writer, whose novels are even today extremely popular with children. Some of his most famous books include ‘The Cat in the Hat’, ‘Horton hears a Who!’ and ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’ among others. Many of his books have been made into award-winning animated movies.
