The lawnmover blenny is found feeding on algae from dead corals. It has a pale, olive to brown body with white and blue spots and dark bands. They camouflage by turning darker when threatened. Males are territorial and dominant. It is oviparous with the eggs being demersal and adhesive. Its lifespan is 2-4 years.
