Correspondence with insurance companies

Today, there are different kinds of Insurance companies, which cover a variety of risks—personal damage, fire, theft, etc. In this particular section, we are going to discuss insurance coverage of articles and goods during their transit from one place to another whether by post, rail or road, air or sea. Please quote your Policy No. and any other reference which you deemed necessary clearly in your letter.
1. Letter to insurance company about damage caused by fire:
Dear Sirs,We are sorry to inform you that last night, at around 2.30 p.m., a large part of our godown was gutted in fire. In our rough estimation, the damage is to the extent of Rs. 50,000. Kindly send your representative to estimate the loss and complete the formalities.

2. Letter of request for reduction in insurance rates:
We are surprised to see your high rates for insurance coverage of my workshop. We, therefore, request you to cover us to the extent of Rs. 25,000 only. Still, we wouldlike to point it out to you that a reduction in the rate could increase the risk amount considerably.
