Ramavisioned in Gobind

There was a priest named Shivdutt in Patna. He was a devotee of Rama. He used to meditate on the river bank and secretly nursed a wild hope that Rama might appear to him in person pleased with his intense penance as he had read in so many scriptures.
That day again he was doing penance on the bank of river Ganga. His mind was beamed in Lord Rama asking the question silently why his devotion was not being rewarded with some sign of recognition if not physical appearance? Will his meditation remain barren desert?
Just then Gobindrai who was prankstering around came upon the scene. He tiptoed to the priest and spoke in his ear, “Punditji! The greens!!”
The startled priest opened his eyes and saw Gobindrai infront of him smiling at him. He wondered why the kid mentioned ‘the greens’ for no reason when his mind was thinking of his penance being unrewarded like a barren desert!
He looked deeply at the boy. His devotion frenzied mind mentally juxtaposed the picture of Rama on Gobind and saw the two perfectly falling congruent. A thought came to his mind that Lord Rama was appearing to him through the presence of the kid Gobindrai. Suddenly, he became sure of it that Rama indeed was rewarding him for his perseverance with devotion. He felt overwhelmed.
Shivdutt fell at Gobindrai’s feet and prayed, “Lord! Thanks for fulfilling my secret wish of seeing you in person. I know it is you. My life is redeemed.”
From that day on the priest would regularly visit the haveli of Guru Teg Bahadur to pay his obeisance to kid Gobindrai and to gladden his eyes with the sight of face of the boy who for him was physical manifestation of Rama. Others followed him.
All these developments were setting up Gobindrai as an incarnation and the news of his divinity excited more and more people.
