You can’t gain respect in the world, if you don’t have any self-respect. People start misbehaving with the one, who don’t respect himself.
For instance, take the example of Miss Mary. Mary is appointed as the secretary of a GM in a MNC.
She doesn’t have any self-respect. She has physical relationship with his male colleagues and she doesn’t mind doing so.
All the men treat her lightly and she is the most defamed lady of the organisation. Had Miss Mary respected herself, she would not have indulged in sexual relationships with so many people. Instead of that, she would have got married with one person and devoted herself in the service of her husband and children. A person who has self-respect doesn’t tread on the wrong path of life.
A person must respect himself and others, if he wants to be respected. Treat the person as he treats you. If someone unnecessarily troubles you, ignore him. If someone insults you, then you must politely tell him to change his attitude, else don’t sit and talk with him.
Some people love you otherwise, but degrade you in front of others to show their superiority in public. Such people ought to be mended. People must understand that if they would disrespect you, they too would be treated in the same way. They should not think that by misbehaving with others, they could never get respect in the world.
It is not good to suppress others and insult them before people to show your superiority to them. If you would ill-treat others, then others would start humiliating you before public.
The person who respects himself shall never tolerate the tyrannies of others. He would firmly correct their wrong attitude and make them tread on the right-path.
A self-respectful person should possess a strong character, else he could never attain respect. A man must possess inner qualities of love and compassion to attain respect. He should never accept the wrong attitude of people towards him and must correct them politely.
