The more man is going away from nature the more troubles he is creating for himself. God had blessed him with most benevolent bounties of nature known as five elements—the air, the water, the sun, the soil and the sky. All life is composed of these elements and decomposes into these. The man in the quest of comforts and in the name of civilzation had tried to exploit these elements for the so-called betterment of mankind. In his pursuits of development and harnessing natural resources he has created worst type of pollution which any day may challenge the very existence of man.
The problem of pollution is assuming alarming proportion. Today we complain of adulteration in food items which causes a great hazard adulteration is the man is making with the purest gifts of nature—the air, the water and the calm and peaceful atmosphere. The World Health Organisation ranked Delhi the fourth most polluted city in the world. The smoke emitted by the factories and the transport vehicles is causing air pollution. The chemicals and wastes from the factories pollute the water. The noise created by factories, vehicles and amplifiers pollutes the noise. The atomic explosions and other space exploration added up to the worst type of pollution of air and atmoshphere.
All the nations are joining hands to check this pollution and bring it down and keep it under control the permissible limit which does not become hazardous for the mankind. Our government has set up The Central Pollution Control Board for the purpose. In the evening we find the atmosphere filled with smoke and other harmful gases. The noise of vehicles all around on the road tends to burst our ears out.
It may not be possible for the national and international organisations alone to control this menace. An all round efforts at all levels is required to free ourselves from the hazards of pollution. The need of the hour. Now or never we must contribute our might check the pollution.
