Our former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is one of the most honest politicians of the world, who has never been involved in any of the corruption scandals.
He possesses a sensitive heart of a poet and jots down the sorrows of the world in his notebook.
His poetry book titled—Meri Athavan Kavitayen has attained popularity all over the nation. Innumerable singers have sung songs based on his poems.
Our beloved leader was born on 25th December, 1924 at Shinde Cantt, in Madhya Pradesh. He grew up under the shelter of his parents, Mr. Krishan Behari Vajpayee and Mrs. Krishna Devi. He was a mere school going child, when he became the member of RSS. Later on he became the founder member of the ‘Jansangh’ a political party founded by RSS.
He never compromise with his conscience in greed of money or position. He didn’t run for recognition, but it ran after him.
On 25th January, 1992 he was bestowed with one of the greatest honours of India, Padma Vibhushana. Thereafter, he was again honoured by U.P. Hindi Sansthan on 28th Sept., 1992. In the year 1993, he was awarded a honourium ‘Doctor of Philosophy’ by Kanpur University.
He was also honoured with ‘Pandit Govind Vallabh Pant’ Award.
He was deeply in love with his motherland from his very childhood. He protested against the reign of British and actively participated in all the peaceful movements meant to flee them away from our country. He was imprisoned in the year 1942, during the ‘Quit India Movement’.
In the year 1957, he contested the first election of Lok Sabha. He shifted to Rajya Sabha in the year 1962 and remained in the house for eight years. He was made the member of Janata Party in 1977. He became the first chief of Bhartiya Janata Party, after the split of Janata Party.
Atal Behari Vajpayee has left no efforts to bring peace in the world.
He has also tried to make peace with Pakistan through his bus journey from Delhi to Lahore.
He has stated that India is ready to destroy all the nuclear armaments, if every country of the world too agrees for full disarmament of nuclear weapons.
His motto is to attain peace in the world, peacefully, and he is working in this direction, with all his heart, soul and mind.
He recently declared his retirement from active politcs but he is ready to serve the party as before.
