How I learnt cycling

Of different types of vehicles, a bicycle is a useful vehicle in its own way. For covering short distances, a bicycle is a valuable vehicle. It is also quite cheap and does not require any fuel or much maintenance. Unlike other vehicles, it can also run on rough or Kachcha roads. It can easily go in the most interior places. This vehicle is very popular in many parts of the world. I learnt cycling two years back. I was a student of class 7 that time. There was no bicycle in our house at that time. I requested my father to present me a bicycle on my thirteenth birthday. I had already arranged my friend, who was residing in my neighbourhood and who was two years elder than me, to teach me bicycling. When I started to learn cycling, my friend and I, with my bicycle, went to a nearby park. I sat on the saddle of the bicycle and my friend held it in his hand tightly. I put my feet on the pedals and started pedalling while my friend ran on foot with the vehicle holding it tightly. I fell down a couple of times and received minor injuries but did not lose heart. I practised for a week in this manner when my friend was with me all the time and on the eighth day I could cycle all alone without the help of my friend. I remember the thrill it gave me when I learnt cycling. Till today, I find the bicycle as a very useful vehicle.
