THE CAMEL

Camels are found in deserts. They are used to carry people and load. A camel is a large animal. It is also very tall. It has a long neck. This helps it to reach the leaves of tall trees. The camel is fond of eating the leaves of thorny trees. It has a hump on its back. It stores water and food in the hump. So it can stay without water and food for many days. Its broad feet help it to walk easily on the sand. That is why the camel is called the “Ship of the desert”.
