Wild Life
Wild life includes not only lion, tiger, wolves but also all animals living in natural environment. All forest plants, micro-organisms are included in wild life.
Importance of Wild life conservation
(i) Wild life conservation preserves environment.
(ii) All food chains use maintained.
(iii) Wild animals act as gene banks.
(iv) Men’s greediness of hunting wild animals has been the main cause of animal extinction.
Conservation
Conservation of wild animals means protection of wild animals. The conservation includes—
(a) To manage and protect eco-systems.
(b) To protect the disappearing species.
(c) To protect the useful species.
How to conserve wild animals
(i) Special protection should be given to the species which are disappearing.
(ii) Food for wild animals should be preserved.
(iii) National and International breeding programme should be raised on priority basis for threatened species.
(iv) All areas of feeding, breeding, resting of animals should be protected.
(v) Migratory places should also be protected.
(vi) Trade on hunting should be banned.
