From a lovely baby, Priyanka grew into a pretty girl, young lady, happily married princess and a proud mother. She had been joy of her late father and Sonia Gandhi. Pretty Priyanka carries with her princessly aura and grace. She has been chatty and articulate.
Infact when Rahul and Priyanka started to interact with party workers she created better impression than her brother. Priyanka appeared to have inherited the air and image of Indira Gandhi. But Priyanka refused to be drawn into politics full time. She loves to be apolitical like Sonia Gandhi was in earlier years.
Instead of falling for politics she fell in love with a youngman called Robert Vadra, got married to him and became a happy wife and then a proud mother of a couple of children. She feels happy that way. No full time politics.
Priyanka comes into politics only to make a brief forays in aid of her mother and brother during election time. She campaigned during 2004 Lok Sabha elections and displayed considerable political talent and natural capability to charm people with her princess like personality cum grace. The party workers adore her and pray she join the politics for the benefit of Congress party. But she is not interested yet.
Priyanka’s political work remains confined to the constituencies of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul. In 2009 electoral battle Priyanka pitched tent in the constituency of her brother, Amethi and took almost total charge of electioneering there for Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi’s constituency of Raebarely. Priyanka ceaselessly campaigned holding meetings, addressing gatherings and rallies, meeting voters personally. She was determined to work up handsome victories for her mother and dear brother. Due to her Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were able to devote more time to other places and constituencies campaigning in support of candidates of Congress and allies.
Both those seats of Amethi and Raebarely were won by Rahul and Sonia Gandhi respectively by huge margins due to tireless campaigning undertaken by Priyanka.
After electioneering she returned to her home base immensely satisfied. Priyanka rejected the requests of the workers and leaders of Congress to stay in the active politics. She was happy living apolitically with her husband and children.
Once before that Priyanka had campaigned alongside her brother relentlessly for their mother when Sonia Gandhi had to seek re-election after she resigned from her membership of the Lok Sabha over the issue of ‘Office of Profit’.
The photogenic face of Priyanka and her princessly conduct make her the darling of the media and the people. Barring periodic political forays for the sake of her mother and brother she stays away from politics living happily with her husband and children. She and her family is often spotted watching cricket matches, musical programmes, at theatres and social functions. That’s the way Vadras like.
