Many a drugs are being sold these days across the counter, promising you keen and enhanced memory power. But that is what meets the eye. Reality though is best illustrated by example given here below.

A teacher explained to his pupils that he had a cerebral tonic which could enhance their memory two folds when used. He further asked them whether they would like to test that drug for themselves. Students replied in affirmative.
Thereupon the teacher prepared a questionnaire and distributed copies thereof among students, asking them to solve it. But before doing this, he divided students in two groups. To one he gave a genuine sample of tonic in question. To another group he gave a coloured syrup of matching colour and consistently. He conducted test of such kind for over a period of 2-3 months.
And guess the results he got? Both groups performed equally good, but better than their performance before trial. This proves that an auto suggestions of drug enhanced memory did indeed work significantly. Drug proved to be just a go bye as placebo group performed equally well.
This proves that if we just tell ourselves that we are (some how) gearing up to a better memory, our mind seems to take message and respond favourably. For, what else can explain upping of intellect in group which took coloured syrup instead of genuine memory medicine?
