Patricia loved looking at the lovely flowers at the local florist shop every day. One day, she decided, “I will grow my own flowers.” Patricia and her mother bought seeds and a book, ‘Grow Your Flowers’ from the store. Patricia read the book carefully. Soon, she sowed the seeds in the soil, just like the book said. Then, she watered them and added manure from time to time. However, the flowers did not bloom. “There are no plants yet so where will the flowers come from?” she worried every day. “Where are the flowers?” she often asked her mother. Her mother said, “Don’t forget to water the plants and give them manure.” So, Patricia did it all. Day and night she took care of her seeds. Soon, she saw little plants growing from those seeds. They grew bigger each day. On her birthday, Patricia got the best gift ever! Her very own home-grown flowers! Mother said, “If you start something, you should never give up halfway. Hard work always pays!”
